I have been searching for an all-Tagalog website but couldn't find any.  Why do Filipinos prefer to design English-language sites? (August 30, 2000)

Don't be puzzled.  The average Filipino in Manila is more American than Asian as a result of American imperial rule for half a century.  Many Filipinos even speak better English than Americans.  Just compare Philippine Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago and U.S. Sen. (to be) Hillary Clinton!

As a universal language, English appeals more to me for its astonishing power and beauty, even though I don't hate Tagalog.
